Wonderful Sigh......

Hello Every one!

A very big welcome to my new followers, thank you so much for taking the time have a look and thank you for joining.

Yes...... wonderful sigh.....I mean Si......of Miniature Enthusiast  was so generous to offer this exquisite Lucy Askew Chinoiserie Mirror  as a give away to celebrate 200 followers. Now, I suppose it's not hard to guess who the lucky winner was?  ME!!! This is the first time I have won a giveaway and I feel so fortunate to have this exceptional Artisan piece in my possession. Far more breathtaking in RL, I have tried to do it justice with my photos but they never completely do. It will be perfect for my Chinoiserie drawing room and it has so inspired me to get to work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Si, you have no idea how much it cheered me the day I looked at your blog and found I had won. It will always be a special piece for me, not only because of it's beauty but because it came from such a dear friend!!

Thank you, Thank you Si!!

Below are some more photos that I hope show the detail. I love the way the Ducks on either side look into the mirror. In the back ground is a tile I have hanging in the bathroom and the Tea Cups belonged to my Mother. I thought it all worked with the Chinoiserie theme.

Well thats it from me today. I will have a bit more to show you all in a few days. Until then happy minis every one!!

    1. Hi Liduina,

I have a room in my Dollhouse I plan to make the drawing room and it will go in there. I have long wanted to try painting a Chinoiserie room, so the mirror will be perfect.

  10. Hi Honey
Sorry I'm late. For some reason (perhaps Big Brother) I can only open Posts now but not comment!! Anyway, here I am!
I was so grateful to everyone who tool the time to enter the Give-away and am more grateful for their company here in Blog Land. I was especially pleased your name came out of the hat and have every faith you will do it more than justice - the gold cups of your Mother are already heading in the right direction.
Thanks for being such a great pal.

    1. Hello my lovely,

Don't apologise for being late!! I think any comments in 48 hours are current and after that better late than never. I'm late with my replies as the last two days have been very busy.

It is so nice to have all these friends in blogland, it's like a whole other world to belong in!Thank you again Si.

It's so strange you have these problems with comments, I wonder if it has something to do with your band width, I remember a while ago I had a few times that happened but it hasn't since we increased our data.

      Much love, Fi xxxx

you really put a smile on my face this early in the morning!!

Yes the give away was a while ago but Si and I are often in another world so getting it here took a while. The tea cups are lovely,my mother collected a lot of lovely things. Its actually her Birthday today, the 8th of February. I think I should do something special to commemorate.

  22. What a beautiful mirror, Fi. Snowy the bear wants one!! It's very grand. Did I tell you that I nearly bought a very rococo mirror frame in Berlin, but was persuaded not to by the friend I was with at the time - I suppose I would have had to carry it round my neck to get it home, what with all our other luggage. I still kind of regret not having bought it. Anyway, your mirror is exquisite!
