Special delivery

Hi Everyone,

It looks like there is a special delivery waiting on the doorstep of our Dollhouse. It has the name and address of my house on the package ( I guess thats how it got there in the first place) so in the not to distant future I will be revealing it's name and maybe the exterior  which will eventually be changed with a little bit of input and guidance from your good selves.

In the meantime and just incase any of you where wondering what on earth I have been doing in the miniature department. I haven't exactly progressed with my kitchen, I have been making tiny boxes. It's taken me a little while to work out a technique I am happy with but I think I have come up with a result that suites.

I think I will wait a while to explain exactly why I have felt the need to make lots of little boxes but let me just say I have had the urge to make some special deliveries of my own.

My next project is to make my kitchen cabinet that I showed last post but I haven't been able to make a start on that for two reasons. Firstly the sudden need to split and stack fire wood from a 25 meter Gum tree and secondly once I found my wood source I was informed that I can only visit the show room on fridays. So I guess you all know what I'm doing friday? I'll keep you posted......; )

Happy minis every one!

    1. Thanks Andy,

I did try to get them as neat as possible, the slightly stiffer card worked better than the brown paper bags.

  6. What fun!
Such a cute little box would be super on my stairs, as if the post has just delivered the parcel.
I love this kind of cute little miniatures.
I am really very curious to the kitchen cabinet that you are creating.
    Kind regards, Alexandra

    1. Ah Michelle,

Ah a fellow box maker? I must say i thought they would be fairly simple, but once I got going it's far more time consuming than I thought. I think I need a little rest from them now.

  9. Be careful splitting all that firewood, darling --that's hard work and making adorable miniature parcels is SUCH a bore with ravaged nails!

  10. Ah yes my lovely,

I did do the boxes before the wood and can I say I have very bruised for arms from carrying wood!! Paul always says - I have the frame that should be waited on but the mind that says LET ME DO IT!!!

Still have a couple to do then I'm done......; )

  11. Fi, I was amazed my your beautifully made boxes when your parcel of shells for Andy arrived - all so beautifully tied up with thread. I've always been interested in making boxes myself, though nowhere near as tiny and delicate as yours. I once made one with a mirror in the bottom, so that even though it might be empty, whenever you look inside there's always someone there to smile back at you!

    1. Hi David,

I'm so glad you liked my little boxes. They were made with love.

Your mirrored boxes sound perfect, never again the feeling of emptyness.

  13. Dear Fi,

I have a few moments spare between preening to check out your blog. I see you are making little boxes, I must say I like them very much, but am not sure about the colours, perhaps you should speak with John, who has tremendous taste! might I suggest pink? or maybe a glittering white, to remind you of me?

Anyway, what evs! what's going inside? I must just mention here that I LOVE chocolates, so if you're sending me any, and why wouldn't you?!? I would love any good quality chocolates, You might need to pop over to Europe to get them, but I'm sure that won't be too much trouble for you?! I know a perfect chocolate shop near Bruges!

    Time to go, more preening!!

    love Snowy XX

  14. Dear, Dear, Snowy,

I'm so honoured to have you take the time out of your busy schedule to stop by.

You absolutely right about our lovely John having exemplary taste. I have in fact begun a small collection of things that remind me of you, and, of course I have made a small box in glittering white. I will without question tare myself away from my darling children and loving husband just so I can get the best selection of Belgian chocolate just for you. Whilst I'm there I will pick up some lace in Bruges for David your doting assistant as I know how much he admires lace.

  16. Oh Fi what was I thinking!!

You don't have to travel to buy chocs for me!!! just order them online! these computers are clever things!! Anyway, as I am trying to be a good bear, I might knit David a scarf or something, I think its his birthday next week, or what's the other one called? well whatever, I'm having all the cakes!!

See how much nicer I am now!!

  17. Dear Snowy,

I have other things in mind for you....... ; )

Is it Davids Birthday or Andy's? - I'm so confused???????

And darling Snowy, I know deep down your intentions are good, and you are truly sweet, it's just hard to be so beautiful and have all that attention without being precious every now and again.

    All my love, Fi xxxx
