YAY YAY YAY !!!!

Thanks to Pepper who steered me in the right direction I have finally found some where local that can supply me with a range of quality wood offcuts. Not only can I get lime wood but several other woods like Mahogany, Oak and cedar ( I all ready have some of cedar as we know ) This means time to put on the thinking cap and I'm thinking Oak flooring in the rest of the house?? Given my house is set in S Carolina I think that could be a wise choice ( and I love it ) given there is Oak a plenty there.

I have found a few pictures off the net just to give you an idea. I do love these rooms but I wont be necessarily modelling my rooms on them. I'd love to hear what you think.

I'm probably getting ahead of my self but I'm just sooooo excited!!!!!

  5. That's good news that you managed to get a source for your wood and I like the pics you've shown, especially the first one. I'm not sure if it's an American thing but I've seen lots of photos with the bed set at an angle like that - I like it. It's not an arrangement we have here in the UK, at least I haven't seen it here but that could be because our rooms are smaller.

    1. Hi Irene,

yes the bed on the angle is a bit different. I think I found it on an American website. The main bedroom I have is so small I don't know if it will work but its good to look at new things.

  6. Yes, yes, yes, Oak floors for certain!

They will look gorgeous! Love the room sets too, they are a great combination of traditional style in a modern setting, think they will be perfect for your house.

Never mind burning gum trees, get sawing oak instead!!! ;)

  7. Oh I wish I was sawing Oak instead!!!

I am just about to put my boots on and get out there!!!

I love Oak floors too. I have them upstairs, natural though without any polish. They scratch a bit but I like that distressed look. Very coastal.........; )

  8. Hi Honey.
Lovely pictures, it will look wonderful I'm sure. Think of all the things you could put in the shelves if you copied picture #2 ! I like the clean uncluttered look of #3.
Can't wait to see how the floor progresses.

    1. I know Si,

I just love those shelves, maybe a bit beyond my capabilities but, good for staring off in to space over......; )

I really like #3 too particularly the floor, I have other plans for my lounge but it is oh so nice, I love the sculpture on the mantel.

    2. I'm too traditional sometimes, but there's a minimalistic clutter-free guy trying to break out LOL. I'm with Andy, oak all the way...

  9. Oh, lucky you to have a supply of good wood!

I love the pictures and yes, we, on this side of the pond, do like to put beds at an angle.

I can't wait to see what you do next!

  11. Aloha, darling! Missed you! So glad you found a local source for wood! Your photos are gorg...I get lots of inspiration from magazines, too --I'm lucky that we have a pretty hefty 'mag budget' for just that purpose at work. XO John

  13. Nowadays, most merchants offer trial periods and return policies for mattress but be aware of any hidden restocking and pickup fees before buying a product.
